The employee will provide manufacturing engineering support to the New Part Introduction (NPI) group for assembly parts.

Depending on capabilities and experience, responsibilities include: 

  • Define assembly process for new part introduction, and develop manufacturing documentation as per established processes and templates
  • Develop project plans and define resources needed to execute the project (labor, capital and expenses). Prepare project budget and proposal as needed
  • Manage and track engineering project status and budget for NPI assembly parts
  • Perform PFMEAs, SFMEAs, and safety risk assessments
  • Create, analyze and/or compare Bill of Materials(BOM), Build Books and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Perform line balancing, capacity and carry over analyses
  • Analyze facility layout and determine floor space requirement for assembly processes
  • Determine tooling and fixtures needed for assembly processes
  • Develop and/or modify Control Plans
  • Perform and evaluate cycle time studies, torque audits and torque analyses
  • Develop and document standard work. Define visual aids needed for assembly processes
  • Prepare training sessions and train operators on new processes
  • Provide engineering support during prototype and pilot ready builds
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the engineering team
  • Participate of design-for-assembly/manufacturability (DFA/DFM) meetings and assembly process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities and implement projects for continuous improvement, cost reduction or process optimization
  • Participate of NPI meetings. Provide project status updates and documentation as required
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proper development, implementation and support of engineering activities 


  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or similar field is required
  • 2+ years of experience working as a manufacturing engineer is required
  • 2+ years of experience working on assembly processes is required
  • Must have experience in CAD systems (i.e. NX, Pro-E, etc.)
  • Must have strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly concepts and processes
  • Familiarity with assembly lines, cellular manufacturing, in-process test stations, and/or paint systems is desired
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software
  • Ability to work well in a team is desired
  • Analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills are required
  • Ability to read and understand regulations and procedures is required
  • Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
