JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Analyze and solve problems on a wide variety of issues related to manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, painting, assembly, and test 
  • Investigate and correct quality issues for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs including risk assessments, validation plans, control plans, and inspection plans. Manage issue capture activities during NPI builds and lead issue resolution for manufacturing issues found during NPI builds and field follow activities. 
  • Investigate and correct quality issues for internal, external, and interplant supplier quality issues. Coordinate related activities at multiple locations or supplier locations. Thoroughly document quality issues and quality performance. 
  • Understand details of engineering drawings and specifications to aid in assessment of conformance or non-conformance of a variety of conditions in manufactured components. 
  • Develop standard work and part quality documentation. Deploy and train employees on best practices. 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from design engineering, manufacturing engineering, global purchasing, external suppliers, interplant suppliers, and machine and subsystem product groups. 
  • Act with urgency to continuously improve manufacturing operations

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar field is required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles, Lean and Six Sigma is desired
  • Experience as a quality auditor, quality analyst, quality engineer, or manufacturing engineer is desired 
  • Experience with engineering drawings, geometric and dimensional tolerances, engineering and manufacturing requirements, and engineering specifications is desired
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) problem solving process desired
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 
  • Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
  • High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
  • Detail oriented with troubleshooting skills
  • Strong ability to manage priorities is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
