JOB DESCRIPTION
Depending on experience, responsibilities include:
 
  • Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical components and systems Design, sketch, model and draft mechanical components using CAD software (e.g., Creo/Pro-E, Siemens NX)
  • Test components and systems, including sizing analysis through simulation, strength of materials, structural fatigue, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), fluid mechanics and heat transfer
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time, cost and feasibility of projects
  • Investigate failures and difficulties. Diagnose issue and make recommendation
  • Create new or update existing 3D models and drawings of mechanical components and systems to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards and practices
  • Address change requests, model and drawing changes and conversions
  • Main point of contact for design and testing inquiries.
  • Provide engineering and technical support , and work with the customer to resolve issues
  • Work with manufacturing to improve design for manufacturability
  • Maintain accurate documentation of designs, drawings, specifications and processes
  • Participate of engineering team meetings, and collaborate as needed
  • Provide status updates and documentation of projects or assigned tasks, as requested
  • Engage in creative problem solving to address issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers & Operations Leaders on assigned projects or activities
     
    REQUIREMENTS
     
    Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar field is required 
  • 3-5 years of experience is required
  • Advanced ability to create 3D Models and 2D sketches and engineering drawings is required
  • Must be able to read and interpret design specifications, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
  • Ability to read blueprints is a must.
  • Strong knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is required
  •  Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software
  • Analytical, technical, and problem solving skills 
  • Critical and innovative thinking are desired
  • High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Professional attitude, willingness to learn is required
